Finding the Feeling Before the Words.
Some restaurants begin with a menu; Amara began with a feeling. Our brand messaging and positioning work started by defining the atmosphere we wanted guests to experience long before they pulled up a chair. Through narrative development, we built a brand story around Mediterranean ease, everyday rituals, and the quiet luxury of being fully present. The language was intentionally restrained, conversational, and warm, giving Amara a distinct point of view without telling people exactly how to feel.
An Identity Made to Feel Lived In.
There's a particular beauty in things that feel like they've always belonged, and that became our guiding instinct for Amara's visual identity. Our approach brought together restrained typography, tactile design elements, and hand-drawn illustrations that feel collected. From the brand identity to the menu design, every detail was developed to complement the restaurant's atmosphere and give its Mediterranean influences room to breathe. We leaned into the kind of visual storytelling that rewards a closer look, creating a cohesive design system with enough character to be memorable and enough restraint to remain timeless. A restaurant's website is often the first invitation, and for Amara, we wanted that introduction to feel every bit as considered as walking through its doors. Our website design approach translated the warmth, intimacy, and unhurried rhythm of the physical space into a digital experience that invites visitors to explore at their own pace. Through atmospheric imagery and generous breathing room, we created a visual journey that captures Amara’s story and the unhurried spirit of its dining experience. Every interaction was considered through the lens of hospitality, making the experience feel personal from the very first click. This digital experience sets the mood, stirs a little anticipation, and makes you wish dinner were already on the calendar.

We believe a good launch should give people something to talk about long before the doors open. For Amara, we developed an initial collection of social media launch assets designed to introduce the brand, tease the atmosphere, and build anticipation for what was coming to Carbondale. Through thoughtful art direction, editorial-inspired visuals, and carefully paced brand storytelling, we gave Amara a social presence that felt like a first taste of the experience itself. Every post was an invitation to get curious, follow along, and start imagining an evening spent around the table.
